Two things about being on a mailing-list: 1) you might not find all messages
interesting, but trying to dictate the discussion is usually a bad move; 2) if
you're bored with this discussion (which could be considered relevant since MP3
is in fact microsound, that is compressed macrosound ;)  start your own
discussion.

It's quite simple, really.
