I'm in a similar camp to you. I'd rate 'Tri Repetae' over the others, but for
similar reasons.

What I think's worth saying on this list is that I found 'EP7' decidedly
unimaginative texturally. If we're talking about sculpting sounds and so on, I
just found it really samey, and far FAR too full sounding. As far as my own
preferences go, I look for a feeling of space (spaciousness, more
specifically) in computer-y stuff that I just didn't hear in this.

As an aside, just picked up the Floating Point CD (Robert Henke from Monolake)
and really enjoy some of what's going on in there. I was struck initially by
how much of it sounds like a digital version of classic analogue effects..
sample-and-hold pitched sounds, very simple tonal material, etc. This isn't to
say I was bothered at all - my leanings are towards this kind of stuff than
eg. Mego.

One thing that particularly struck me was where the sounds of waves rolling in
were being warped through an amazing reverb. An excellent example of delay
based effects used to create an unreal atmosphere rather than just being used
to make something "better produced".
