Re: [k]

hi everybody,

regarding [k] software -

i have used it, and still do. but at the same time, i work for a music
software company whose survival depends on users paying for the software we
make. so i really see both sides of this issue.

personally, in my own software use, i feel like i have to achieve an
ethical balance, where i pay for the software that a) i use most -
especially professionally - and b) whose company i feel i really want to
support.

it is a tough balance. there are so many factors. and obviously some people
are in more of a position to pay for software than others.

on the one hand, i feel that artists need access to tools.

on the other hand, if nobody pays for this stuff the companies will go out
of business and this incredible flow of cool software that has been
occurring, especially the last few years, will die out.

make your own decisions - but please support people who write software when
you can - just as it is important to support artists making music.

both the music industry and the software industry are certainly in a state
of flux these days, due to the internet. it will be really interesting to
see how it all shakes out over the coming times...

meanwhile - tweak on, tweak on.
