I just have to jump in here and second Michael's recommendation of
Schnittstelle. I was brewing up a "top 5 most important" list for the
group, but choked on the detailed descriptions. Anyway, Atom Heart (I
believe he just goes by Atom now) was definitely on the list:
Vladislav Delay:Entain
Atom Heart:Schnittstelle
Oval:Systemisch
Iannis Xenakis: la legende d'eer
bernhard gunter:un peu de neige salie
Anytime you do a list like this, it's essentially something pretty personal
- so really these are just CD's that screwed me into my chair and stunned me
to silence. Uwe Schmidt is one of those artists that consistently blows me
away. The sheer volume of his output:

is incredible, and as his releases cover and plunder so much ground (techno,
house, digi-click-glitch, ambient, quirky digi-jazz, latin, groove, and even
hip-hop) it can be easy to catagorize him too quickly. My recommendations
for the group (along with Schnittstelle) would be:
Masters of Psychedelic Ambiance:MU (Atom Heart & Tetsu Inoue)
B.A.S.S. Binary Amplified Super Stereo (Atom Heart)
Naturalist (Atom Heart)
Microprocessed (Atom Heart & Eyephone (m.behrens))
and... if you're not afraid of a latin flavor...
Los Samplers:Descargas -- pure digital fuckery...
