Hexaphonic

hi
I just came home from The Lab in SF where the
music event Hexaphonic took place.
Francisco Lopez, Zbigniew Karkowski, Antimatter,
ID, Crawl Unit did their performances tonite.

overall, it was a fantastic event of quite stunning
music. Francisco Lopez was quite different from what I
had expected (yes, I missed his show last year). It was
just amazing how he layered the tracks together into
massive lump of sonic force. Totally different from what
can be heard on many of his releases which tend to be
minimal and silent. I was craving for more. What also
surprised me was his use of samples that seemed to be
from Heavy/Death Metal tracks. But I have to admit
it fit pretty nicely.

Another highlight for me was Crawl Unit and ID. I haven't
seen Crawl Unit in action for quite a long time now, but it was very
beautifully structured. "Everybody Gets What They Deserve"
has been one of my favorites, but and his set tonite
was just marvelous. As for ID, I don't know a thing about this
gentleman from Japan, but his set was incredibly done with
glitchy parts and low frequency pulses very nicely integrated,
and just got better and better as he put in more elements to it.
any info, releases, etc would be greatly appreciated.

As for Antimatter and Zbigniew Karkowski, I must say it had
its moments, but I got a bit bored after a while.

Anyways, the whole night was a lot of fun and (intensive).
I would like to hear what others felt about the performances.
I need some rest....

Lopez ROCKS!!!
..........
Kurt
