Life beyond the clicks (top or bottom)

A certain amount of ear-fatigue is probably to be expected. I find
myself in the happy position these days of doing quite a lot of
my *personal* listening to much of the work we discuss here,
and needing to program work on my weekly radio show which
includes, but is not limited to it. Interestingly, I find that the more
traditional "ambient" component of my audience is often the most
exclusivist and dismissive, while the laptop/post electronica/electroacoustic
folks seem to like or be willing to pursue anything. I'm actually running
some work by Sir John Tavener for someone who asked for that I play
him during a conversation on Eric LaCasa and the estimable Mr. Gunther's
work [long forms, slow rates of modification, sumptuous spaces]. Go
figure. So, Akira R. is the warm-up act (http://www.rtqe.net/08.13.00.html).

I love this gig.

Anyone heard and care to comment on the new Noton book/4 CD set
thing? My German is terrible, as I shall certainly notice during my
visit to Berlin for the ICMC and the OFF-ICMC in a couple of
weeks.
