Anyway, expecting an artist to "be there", "play", "perform" corporeally is
a bit of fan worship, isn't it?
What? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Which is more a
case of fan worship: paying money and travelling to a show expecting to see
a musician perform music, or paying money to watch someone stand on stage
while their CD plays? Anyone who would go to a club to watch someone stand
around while a CD plays is a true fanboy.
And all of this splitting hairs over terminology is stupid. If you're
putting on a show of any kind and you list an artists name, people are going
to assume that artist is playing. Should audiences be expected to read the
fine print and ponder over the meaning of the word "performance"? Even the
term "presentation" implies some sort of activity does it not?
