ah, yes. this is some of the technique i used on the beta to live and shave 
in la sessions (at the time: peach of immortality). run the sends though the 
returns and obsolutely terrorizing the engineers, who were afraid to touch 
me as one slip of the fader would burn-out their boards.

his approach is a the perfect refinement, or reduction, of the method. many 
of us "loop" explorers also used digital delays fade one into the other and 
back again, through the desk, or not, using only the signals created within 
the architecture of the devices themselves.

i appreciate reducing the device to the mixer, though, this seems best.
