i think not to be able to reproduce the very same sound exactly is indeed a
great challenge and chance of analog equipment, at least of the not
pre-programmed kind of synthesizers.
btw this was exactly what alan ravenstine was interested in and what drove
him crazy when performing on a stage with poor pa equipment (with bad or no
monitoring).

regarding controlled feed back systems:
did someone mention yet rafael toral's "aeriola frequencies" and - a lot
earlier - the work of david myers aka arcane device?
