THE WIRE SESSIONS Live in London

not sure if this is micro sound or macro sound - but I hope this is
of interest..........

The Wire and the SBC presents
THE WIRE SESSIONS Live in London

Beginning in October, The Wire will host a series of concerts on
London's South Bank under the name The Wire Sessions, presenting
vanguard sounds from across the sonic spectrum.

The first Wire Sessions Live takes place on Friday 13 October in the
Queen Elizabeth Hall. The concert ties in with the publication of The
Wire's 200th issue and features:

* MORTON SUBOTNICK: extremely rare performance from the legendary US
composer whose 1967 album, Silver Apples Of The Moon, remains a
landmark release in the history of post-war electronic music and has
influenced everyone form Miles Davis to Stereolab and Autechre

* MEGO ALLSTARS: FENNESZ, GENERAL MAGIC, PITA, SKOT (Tine Frank and
Matthias Gmachl (also of Farmers Manual). Four names from the
Vienna-based Mego label and collective. In recent years, Mego has
established itself as one of the most innovative and influential
nodes on the global electronic network, and Fennesz, General Magic,
Pita and Skot are three of its most feted acts. All will perform
separate sets with live visuals

* RADIO BOY, an alias for the rogue UK electro-auteur Matt Herbert,
whose blend of 21st century musique concrete and on-stage cordon bleu
cookery sessions comes over like a cross between Pierre Henry and
Jamie Oliver.

Future Wire Sessions Live will feature the mind-bending electro-jazz
of Norway's Supersilent (November) and a dub sound system clash
courtesy On U-Sound (December). The Wire Sessions Live will then
continue in 2001.
