Media artist Stephen Vitiello focuses on sounds that are ambient, environmental, and even incidental in creating sonically rich soundscapes often in collaborations with noted musicians, visual artists and choreographers including Scanner, Tony Oursler and Constance DeJong, Nam June Paik, Jem Cohen, Dara Birnbaum, Joan Jeanreanuc, Frances-Marie Utti, and Mikhail Baryshnikov. His latest CDs - Scratchy Marimba (Sulphur Records) and Light of Falling Cars (JDK) noted by The Wire as "one of the highlights of the year." TWISTER is Vitiello's first live sound performance in the DC area. This presentation is part of WPA\C's continuing FRAME series.

Sound artists Richard Chartier (Washington, DC) and COH (Sweden) present laptop digital sound performances. Chartier is known for his critically acclaimed audio releases on USA's 12k/LINE and Japan's Meme label of atmospheric digital compositions integrating microscopic/ultra-minimalist sounds, tones and frequencies. COH (Ivan Pavlov) is regarded internationally for his computer post-pop/erratic-electronic work on Germany's Raster-Noton and UK's Wavetrap labels and his collaborative work with British artists, Coil.
