i'm just getting interested in glitchy stuff as something to make for
myself, and i'm also a diehard pc guy.  which is why it hurts to say that a
mac is undoubtedly, at least for now, the best choice.  there are a few
reasons, some of them as old as the mac itself (ouch).  anyhow, Max/MSP and
Supercollider are two very good reasons if you see value in using those aps.  

it is possible to get where you want to go with a pc, it's just often not
as elegant.  but it can be fun.  you feel like you're hacking, hotrodding a
half dozen aps to play nicely with each other.  you can achive some very
unusual moments of serendipity trying to keep everything from falling
apart.  and working 'sideways' on the problem kind of gives you a different
perspective.  all this is very glitchy in the spiritual sense i think :)
