Digigram VX card.....how is it?

ross healy asked about the Digigram VX card. . . .

I used that beast before and it has some plusses and big draw backs. The
first is that it's analogue I/0's are XLR (the big mic connectors) so you
always need a mixer lying' about. (No head phone jack either). . . It works
fine with the software I was using (MAX/Msp and peek mostly), But in Max it
doubled the CPU load, (When nothing was happening instead of it being say
15% it would be 30%), Also fore live performance there was a (much bigger
than sound manager) delay for taking in sound ant putting it out. . . Making
it somewhat use-less for live real time processing of an acoustic
instrument. . .
The sound quality is really good though. . . But now I just use it for the
digital in/out getting/putting things off/onto DAT.

Hope that helps. . .
