Well as Robert Moog said in "Modulations," electronic music is the "hot rod" 
of the nineties (turning now to the millenium), and the computer is the 
fetishized object par excellence, one which seduces.  The fetish was an 
interesting conceptual manifestation in the film "Crash" by 
Cronenberg--fetishization of the car, especially as damaged, of the wounded 
and scarred body, in fact the elision between the body and car was 
everywhere in the film, most prominently carried out in the montage sequence 
in the car wash, itself a metonym of the sexual act taking place 
simultaneously in the back seat.

I've never been much for socks but must profess a fetish for feet.  Even an 
ugly foot can become a source of fascination...in it's "ugliness" of course.
