Re: [microsound] Burkhard Stangl

This might not be of that much interest considering the musical direction
Stangl has been going in the last few years, but I thought I should also
mention that he along with Werner Dafeldecker were (maybe still are
?) members of the avant garde jazz/new music ensemble Ton-Art, which put
out a couple of records on Hat Art in the late 80's/early 90's. I haven't
listened to those recordings in a few years, but from what I remember
there was a lot of very linear, 20th century classical influenced type
writing which didn't feature much, if any, textural/extended techniques
improv. I remember finding the discs a bit boring overall to be
honest. The writing was a bit samey samey and lackluster. I preferred the
Maarten Altena Ensemble for that kind of thing. From what I remember
Stangl's playing was very linear on those albums.
