Re: [microsound] DNA no wave
Comsumate list of vital No-Wave/NYC Post-Punk classics in my opinion:
Mars "78+" - the best of the lot if you ask me...strange and jagged music.
DNA "DNA" - lovely!
Swans "Filth/Body to Body Job to Job" - wonderful reissue, although I prefer
the later Swans work, this is more in line with devastating no-wave.
Ut "Live" - has this LP been reissued yet? these guys are highly underrated.
Sonic Youth "Confusion is Sex" - kinda after no-wave revolution, but these
guys were involved with that scene.
The Contortions "Live in NYC" - James Chance sax attack.
other stuff worth hunting is Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, although i'm not
such a big fan of theirs. Glenn Branca of course... his guitar orchestras
are beautiful.
nice to see people on this list well aware of this interesting stuff, but I
would expect no less. Someone mentioned buying "No New York" recently... has
this finally been reissued?
