right, it's not just the hardware -also OS, and Apps.

Hardware: do you really need more speed? more ram is better. 5 PCI slots
will do, 2 sound cards, 2 video cards and SCSI. Quiet power supply is a
must. It's even better in rack mount case.

OS: multitask, protective memory, intuitive interface (sorry bill)

Apps: your taste. 

I need a mac because of the OS and Apps. -I like extentions and control
panels better than 20,000 of .dll files and some other files without english
names and recognizable icons. It's true that MacOS slowly get sick but you
can just drag'n'drop the system/finder to fix the problem...

Reaktor runs better on NT box than a Mac (i guess it still...) so that's a
plus for PC. SuperCollider is only for a Mac. Kyma runs on both.
