Re: [microsound] A plea for signal

I've been waiting for the topicality (or even relevance) axe to drop for weeks now, not I mind the tech-chatter, but enough is enough; in fact, I have a harder and harder time, the deeper I get into this kind of sound design as-such, keeping separate the sounds and the technologies and techniques used to produce said sounds. Would it be out-of-line to suggest creating a direct companion site for microsound-tech discussion? Not a big deal, but something comaparable to the (now deceased?) drone-gear list, which I assume was once a companion to Drone On. The nice thing is that there wouldn't be an utterly splintered body of "microsound" sympathizers/listeners/fellow-travellers, spread out over a dozen software- or hardwarededicated lists; nor would we confound the more pedestrian (I don't mean that arrogantly) tekkie-denizens of a tech/studio-dedicated list like, say, Event Horizon. The point would be that the microsound agenda (no real "the" there, but....) would be the centerpiece of the list, not just the desire to talk equipment.

Just making a case for a valuable complement to the excellent list you've cultivated here. Also, would it be out of line to invite a "guest poster", an accomplished artist who might not normally have the time, to subscribe for about a week, almost a chat; or maybe a one-time response post to a series of pre-submitted questions, with a short spate of q&a. Just some ideas....you've got a great list happening; I'm happy to be a part of it.
