I use a finalizer plus and a the Manley vari mu tube compressor.  The
finalizer plus can serves as an insert bay (light pipe out of my computer into
the finalizer, analog out of the finalizer into the manley, out of the manley
back into the finalizer. and finally the light pipe out of the finalizer back
in the computer) wich is very useful, and also as a three band compressor.  In
combination with the limiter of the finalizer i can bring up the very low
sound a couple of db highher without pushing more the peeks.  To make a good
job, 'cause you don't want to make pumping your compressor and also you want
to keep a nice dynamic range, you have to really tweak the attack, releases
and ratio parameters.  Listen carefully while you tweak and make a lot of
comparaison beetween one setup and another.  Also a good selection of the band
selection is important.  For that kind of music i tend to keep the ratio
beneath 4:1.  I then use the manley to nearly compress les the 0.5 db
reduction.  The Manley is here use to smooth up the signal and to bring a
larger image.  That's how i do it but there's hundreds of way.  The best thing
i can add is go with your ear!
