Die szenen
ian, etc..
i have the same problem/issues about where to relocate to...graduating from
syracuse university in 2 months, nyc the obvious choice, cool clubs (tonic,
knitting factory, etc..), williamsburg, brooklyn, a lot of new
art-performance-exhibition spaces, and obviously a cultural mecca, but rents
are a problem unless you and some friends are eager to put up drywall and
subdivide ;) also thinking about chicago..
i have a friend who moved out to san francisco and is couching it illegally
in someone's living room and works at a photo-development place for $$$, but
since has been interning at some placed called ATA (artists' television
association i think..) and has been screening stuff, performing living at
some placed called OTHER CINEMA and doing live video mixing with some band
called ANIMAL CHARM...seems to be enjoying it out there besides the
extremely high rents and has nothing but recommendations for stuff to do /
interesting people to collaborate with, microsound or otherwise.
so.....anyone also thinking about relocating interested in rooming together,
possibly collaborating in nyc/ brooklyn / long island city area come
mid-summer for a bit..? (half joking half serious)
hehehe
