Noise (or any sound) is indeed a physical force that can be
used as a weapon (hence the reference to Burroughs' text on
the use of tape recorders). I was simply wondering if a
wordless statement is a sufficient response to political
"opponents" who uses words against you. At this point, I
really can't rule out any physical means at my disposition
(including speech). My question was: Is the "context"
(title, type of music, cover art, posters, everything that
gives the "colour" of a project) enough to evacuate the
"verbal"? If, like you said, "its efficacy is up for
debate" what's missing in wordless sounds to get a
political point out?
I try in my music to trigger a complete physical responce
in the public, assuming that in the end the experience
itself would be sufficient to "politically change" the
people who positively responded to that experience. But I
still doubt that it is enough.
(I apologize in advance for my abusive use of quotes but I
find that in this type of discussion it is very difficult,
especially because "capital controls so many of the
channels for debate", to find unspoiled words to use)
