you spell chord with an "h". there is nothing wrong with using traditional
musical elements in coordination with "microsound" compositional ideas. it
is, of course, also fine to refuse to use them or even be consciously
ignorant of them, however, this attitude that microsound is somehow
compromised by the use and/or knowledge of music theory or history is
absurd. why so many new computer oriented composers are so resentful of
traditional forms of music and composition is quite strange and very
self-limiting. no matter what your medium, genre, or style it is beneficial
and rewarding to be aware of and use elements of all kinds of music. anyway,
that's my two cents.
