A non-violent protest isnt 'democratic' either, its just a waste of time, at
least in Canada.

The communists are not concerned about fighting against 'totalitarianism',
they are looking to get rid of capitalism. Communists believe that the
ruling class of capitalists must be smashed through revolution. Since
democracy is a system implimented by the capitalists, it quite obviously
serves their interests.

What does dropping one vote in a ballot box every few years have to do with
being civilized? I would think that a civilized society would reflect a
society where those who generate wealth (workers) retain ownership of it.
