There's a bit of musical misinterpretation here: there is nothing
repetitive in Morton Feldman's or Alvin Lucier's music. You may find here
and there a note or chord that is repeated once or twice (as you will find
in almost any music), but never repeated patterns or phrases as in
'repetitive' music (Steve Reich, Phill Glass, John Adams)...I think this is
important, especially regarding Feldman's music, which is very organic and
still very arbitrary and has analysts wondering why that particular chord
follows that other particular chord (and the relationship is not always
small scale) - a good test is to get a Feldman vynil and play it at higher
speed -
