why microsound? (idm crossthread) (skip if ya dont feel philisophical)

k, so i dont pipe up to often here, but i wanted to share somthibg i wrote 
to the idm list.

ok. so its 5am sunday morning. im all juiced up on caffine and just kinda
thinking to myself as im flipping through countles commercials and
television shows when i come up with a string of thoughts, wich i suppose
have some sort of relevance to this list. im sitting, thinking about media,
and how it applies to a person. im thinking about, why it is that so many of
us are attracted to what we are. what is it that makes a person decide that
they are going to like motzart, or jessica simpson?  why do all of us like
quarky, electronic, patterns and rythmns? why is it that some people would
rather watch the weather channel all night, than watch the world cup? why is
it, that instead of subscribing to a newsgroup focused on sepeltura or
travis tritt, we choose to read about chris clark and lexaunculpt (who i
would love to hear more from ;)

i guess you could even break it down to questions like, why do some people
like tomatos and liver, when others cant stand the taste of either. i guess
im just sort of interested in why we are who we are. is it because of early
childhood influences? or is it a striving to be diffrent, or more the same?
more than anything, i guess the question im asking is....why is david
hastlehoff so damn popular outside of the usa? didnt those people get their
memo?

maybe im spending too much time watching crap on tv and sucking down sugar
loaded beverages, rather than taking the time to let my body rest but im
sure some of you have asked yourself similar questions. i can say i listen
to idm related music because "it just sounds cooler" or i can say "because
the music triggers interests in obscure forms of music for me" but does that
really give me an accurate reason as to why i enjoy listening to this type
of music more than others? nope it doesnt.. and to be completely honest i
dont expect any of you to know the answers if there are any anyway. but i am
curious in knowing what you all think about it as well. i appreciate you
reading through my garble and would love to hear what you think, but lemme
remind you. if you must be an asshole, try not to aim that thing at me. i
didnt force you to read this.
