RE: [microsound] Canada

I have to say, I find all this talk of Canada/ U.S. relations (and even
antagonisms) very interesting.

I'm not sure what the term "off topic" means to me....not much, frankly. I
appreciate a good digression.

I did have an intewresting realization today, though. Most of my exp[osure
to "glitch" comes through my job, where I dub a lot of noisy wax cylinder
recordings. After spending a day with some Jesup Expedition cylinder
recordings (Siberia 1909), Farmer's Manual sounds like Quincy Jones to
these ears.

Today, a freind returned my copy of Robin Maconey's "Stockhausen on Music"
(imagine!)....

I took a quick skim:

music should not be viewed as entertainment, Stockhausen writes, rather a
sort of topography of the human and cosmic spirit, the highest expression
fo human intelligence.

I found this passage most entertaining!

My "why electronics?" musings continue. I encourage everyone on this list
to indulge themselve in some non-electronic noise/music activity, if you
aren't already.

MAYBE SOMEHWERE OUT THERE THERE IS A MACROSOUND MAILING LIST. LOUD NOISE,
INTRUSIVE, RUDE BEHAVIOR. TODAY'S TOPIC: BOYD RICE'S FEELINGS ON CANADA
AND THE CHURCH OF SATAN!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!!!!
