talking about shows in France, just learnt a sad news. The club where we do
our BiP_HOp monthly live-events has been forced to close for 60 days by the
police and city hall. There is no good reason for that decision and it sounds
like an excuse from the politicians to clean the city. That is very very bad
as it means that they won't be able to stay closed during such a long period
because they will lose so much money that they might not even be able to
reopen in November. I feel really down and also very disappointed.
Elsewhere in France you have to contact the people from Buro booking the best
gigs in Paris. The likes of Ikeda, Pita, etc... Try

Another seemingly good ressource in Paris is old friend Marie-Pierre Bonniol
who recently started booking in a new art/multimedia
club : Nouveau Casino/Cafe Charbon. This month they have Oval, Felix Kubin...
and lotsa other ones which elude me at the moment.

You can also contact Black Sifichi from me and explain the situation. He did
a record on Noise MuseuM and now co-books for
Metafort, in suburbs of Paris, Aubervilliers

Close to Toulouse, my pals from Adenoide / Jean Ulrich

To get a show in Nantes, ask kitty, who books for Le Lieu Unique

Bovine Life "social electrics" [bleep 06]______September 2001
Award winning UK film maker / digital artist Chris Dooks was known for his
film work on musicians such as Scanner for The South Bank Show, to tiny
bedroom labels in the middle of nowhere. His first album introduces some solo
works, and besides some collaborations with Kohn, Third Eye Foundation,
Future Pilot Aka, and artists from labels such as Mego (Alku), Leaf
(Ylyptyk), Janek Schaefer, Diskono... If you've ever been put on hold,
you'll know that the tune they play down the telephone is a waste of
telecommunications ! Not so with Chris?s modem adventures. Bovine Life has
been jamming through the modem, speaking in electronic tongues, secreting
sounds that vary from being immersed in amniotic fluid, right through to
searing bleeps that would make any nation stand to attention ! Enhanced CD
features a short movie by Chris Dooks.
