I would have to disagree somewhat here...one thought that keeps going
around in my mind is that we Americans are personally responsible for
our nation's foreign policy...I don't think it's going to be good enough
anymore to pretend that our government's policies are made by others and
it's nothing to do with us as individuals.

This is how Hitler came to power in Germany, I think -- he was probably
disliked or even hated by many Germans, but they didn't do anything to
stop him. 'Pity about the Jews, but it's not *my* problem, I'm too busy
working and paying the bills to do anything about that...' Something to
think about as we move forward after this disaster.
