Hi Igor. I've used CSound a lot in the past, and its ok. The best way to
learn is to do Richard Boulanger's tutorials. He also wrote a book called
"The Csound Book" which comes with a CD-ROM that has a lot of info and
tutorials. Don't spend the money until you're sure you want to use csound a
lot. Some people love it, some people hate it. You can also subscribe to the
Csound user's page. There are a lot of experienced users there, and they
talk sometimes about very complex issues, but don't be afraid of asking
simple questions, they are very helpful and friendly people.

www.csounds.com is the best resource. There are a lot of links there, and it
is hard to find what you need. But for windows, this *looks* like a good
one:

I'm not sure about DirectX, but someone has Csound as a VST plugin. I
couldn't find it. It's too bad you don't have a Mac - Supercollider is much
better... But expensive and esoteric. Best of luck!
