actually, i think it's just about the opposite. the flood of cheap, powerful
computers in the last 5-6 years have made it possible to record and master
your record, complete in your own bedroom. 'microsound' or whatever you want
to call it, (dsp, cpu techno, binary boogie?) is one of the most 'suitable'
kind of music for this new technology, as it is usually made 90-100% inside
the computer. almost any computer from the last 6 years is sufficient (i'm
still doing fine with my 66mhz apple) with decent soundcard. add maybe a
minidisk and a cd burner and your fine.
