Re: [microsound] Re: [micro$$$$$$$$$ound]

I've had a monthly event going in San Francisco for 6 months now, and so far I have to say that my experience has been a little different. While there are ALWAYS going to be people in this scene who's egos surpass their abilities, I've found that most of the artists themselves have been very flexible in how they are accommodated.

I've had Safety Scissors, Taylor Deupree, Sutekh, Richard Devine, and numerous local SF acts out to play (not to mention visual artists, like Chris Musgrave) and all of the above mentioned were very flexible about pay and/or accommodations. Maybe I've just been lucky with the artists I've had out to play, but they all seem very into the idea of having their music presented to people, without the "rock and roll" bullshit.

If anyone on the list is in town on Thursday the 11th, there's an event with Mo & El Puma of the Elektro Music Department, Kadet, Jon Williams (Organised Noise) and Darin Marshall (Belief Systems).
