Re: [microsound] TMI

I just wanted to jump on and relate from personal experience with the author
here. Like many liberal americans, I find myself awoken in a world of
hypocricy as my tv finally turns its eye to Afganistan(funny, I thought I
controlled its movements). Is all this real, or just an exercise in
boredom. I look at record reviews and I am intrigued, but its that same
question of want vs. need. How many more experimental electronic cd.s do i
need? none.......How many do I want?......many. I can make the sine wave,
I can make the beat, I can morph the sample, so why go anywhere else. Im
now 26 and buy fewer records the I did at 23, and I imagine I will buy even
fewer in the years to come. My conclusion: scarcity does confer value
wether "REAL" or not is a metaphysical question. But nothing is scarce to
me on the internet I just ordered 7 cds I would never find in the local face
to face market. Now those faces have the value and the cds are plastic.
sincerely,
          Benjamin I Zavodnick
