This kind of thing reminds me of those early automobiles where they put
horseheads on the front to make people more comfortable with the
concept...

To me, DJing is not about the medium, it's about the concept --
selecting and mixing music together and shaping the whole flow of sound
into a performance which is greater than the sum of its parts.

I use a laptop compter and digital audio files to do what has in the
past been done with vinyl records or CDs, but I'm not attached to my
computer either...as I was discussing with a friend recently, in the
future I'd like to be able to have my entire music collection slotted
into my brain William Gibson-style and control everything with my
thoughts.

(Perhaps not so far-fetched as it seems in light of the brain-computer
interface advances discussed in Wired last month?)

My buddy Christiaan had a good idea -- maybe in the short term we could
adapt those eye controllers that fighter pilots use to target missiles
and use that to mix? That military spinoff technology again...
