my top ten...

....books of 2001:

"Information Theory and Esthetic Perception" - Abraham Moles
"Negotiations" - Gille Deleuze
"Audio Vision (Sound on Screen)" - Michel Chion
"Human Use of Human Beings (Cybernetics and Society)" - Norbert Weiner
"Aesthetic Theory" - Theodor Adorno
"The Postdigital Membrane (Imagination, Technology and Desire)" - Robert
Pepperell & MIchael Punt
"Gille Deleuze and the Ruin of Representation" - Dorothea Olowski
"Oulipo Compendium" - ed. Harry Mathews and Alastair Brotchie
"Marcel Duchamp (Respirateur)" - Hatje Cantz
"Becoming Virtual (Reality in the Digital Age)" - Pierre Levy

these books are not in any order and were not published in 2001 but they
kept me company for the many many hours I spent in airplanes last
year...and all of them were digested and used as mulch for numerous
articles I'm in the middle of writing and late to deliver...

happy new year!
