RE: [microsound] pretenders



Hmm - didn't really mean to cause all this confusion. The reason 
I used the word pretenders is that this tools (PD and jMax) work 
in the same way as max but have a lot less objects - from my point 
of view (a PC user who really wants a full blown Max) they are 
good but not the real deal (not unless I want to do a lot of coding 
and porting which given my day job is software development and 
my hobby is music making is not really what I want to be doing). 
So in that sense they are pretenders. 

Between the two I can do a lot of the things I want so its not 
too bad. Cycling 74 reckon they've got a Max port for windows 
comming out soon anyhow. 

hope that makes things clearer - I'll be a bit more careful next 
time. :-)
