belated thanks for your dc offset excavator references and time.
i tried a lot of apps but still find that
recording battery currents via dat is the most effective if you don't mind
risking a dat to pop.

for others wondering and not willing to risk the fatal damage of a dat,
sonicWORX also is an option.
