FW: [Xchange] questions - making music on the net

microsounders,

i'm passing this questionaire along to those of you not afraid to intellectualize your working process with "pure data" and "non-physical product" (or any of those other "creepy" things mentioned by taylor, andrei, et al). although the xchange list is much more focused on streaming and web-specific audio, per se, i know a lot of people here are also engaged in similar activities. the last 5 or so questions are VERY related to artistic practice, as i see it in the [microsound] "scene". maybe even posting selected responses to [microsound] list could be interesting.

i'm also particularly interested in what makes net-audio a medium in itself, unrelated both to other forms of distribution, and also to other sounds; i.e. the "signature" of the compression scheme, the opportunities for user interface (granulating the hell out of madonna, for example), the networking and community which evolves, etc etc.

best,
derek
