this month, we are very pleased to present reflection, a quartet of exclusive pieces from frans de waard's newest project, freiband.  de waard is a founding member of kapotte muziek, beequeen, and goem in addition to operating numerous diverse solo projects.  the freiband process was inspired by the tape-scratching of asmus tietchens on his album 'daseinsverfehlung'; here, however, the technique is applied in an entirely updated digital context.

in a similar vein to the music found on the recent ritornell album, microbes, reflection is a dense cloaking-device suite, at once fiercely binary yet imbued with inner warmth. freiband is probably de waard's most personal project to date.
