form- like what steve reich said about taking elements from other cultural
musics while being aware of cultural appropriation.
to not be obscene and put a 'sitar in a rock band' but instead learn from
the patterns and forms and integrate them into whatever the composers
personal aesthetic standards might be.

certain tools favour certain structures, but it seems more of a push/pull
than being locked inside a cell.

the denial/ignorance of form could be a rejection of structure/tradition.
but then it moght be that there are forms inherent to this sort music that
we arent aware of.  passed over as just the way things are done.  its not as
though classical composers wrote in sonata form- they just wrote within the
conventions of the day.  (cd/vinyl albums split into tracks lasting about an
hour are pretty common- and seen posssibly from the future- maybe a defining
musical 'form' of this period)
