(b. 1943, Mohonk Lake, New York). Began her apprenticeship with Vladimir
Ussachevsky and her long association with the Columbia-Princeton
Electronic Music Center in 1963. Smiley assisted Ussachevsky on several of
his classic works, including the score to the film "No Exit". From 1966 to
1982 Smiley composed over forty electronic music scores for major theater,
film and dance productions.
