new imac question

hi, 
can anyone give me some good reasons not to buy one of the new imacs?  i am going to be doing a little bit of everything with it: flash, photoshop, hopefully some video stuff, etc. but will primarily be using it for audio, more editing than sound generation.  
i am also looking for some advice on input devices for audio and/or video (mostly audio).  i only need stereo but four to eight channels of input would be alright too.
