depends on what system do you want to use.
if you want to use protools, mbox is the only choose because digidesign
systems only works with their soft and hardware, but actually i have no
knowledge about Apogee MiniMe, maybe in a future could work with protools
software but i dont think so.
i have the MBox and i work with protools in a laptop.
i sure you it works fine on 9.1 MacOS powerbook 500.
this interface is plug powered USB.the sound quality is good with 2 preamps
focusrite with 48V and 2 inserts.also you can use this input with diferent
signals line/instrument.you have spdif io and headphones.the software 5.2
works with the diginetwork protocol, and there are many 3party that are
doing pluggins to the RTAS plataform.you can work with max/msp via
directconect and pluggo3 of cycling´74.Native instruments have also many
interesting directconects.finilly you have a control panel of digidesign
that allow you to route the audio of the soundmanager to the interface.
i am happy with this interface and i think the price is reasonable.
