short review: tetsu inoue / carl stone =?unknown?b?lg==?= pict.soul

tetsu inoue / carl stone ? pict.soul ? cycling74

it's really wonderful that tetsu inoue exists on this
planet, coining one of the most exciting and
challenging musics, and it's also weird because i
somehow got the impression that tetsu is not very
known and not many people pay attention on what he
does. And he does a lot. Besides solo albums there are
many collaborations with Pete Namlook (2350 Broadway
and Shades of Orion), Bill Laswell, Atom Heart, and
the recent 2 collaborations Field Tracker and
Pict.Soul. Field Tracker is more environmental
oriented with 2 longer tracks, but pict.soul is really
a gem for everyone that likes minimalistic listenable
microsounds, artists and labels like 12K, Shuttle 358,
Alva Noto, Jan Jelinek, Frank Bretschneider, Pan
Sonic? If you are devoted Pan Sonic fan, you should
hear pict.soul. This album is more microsound than
this microsound mailing list. Simply beautiful, though
i think not one of those albums that people like to
talk about, but that doesn't matter when we are
talking about tetsu inoue - one of those musicians who
can make you want to hear all their previous albums
after hearing one of them. (5+)
