I don't think they're terribly suited for granular synthesis, but I
definitely prefer pd over Audiomulch. As cray said, there's more programming
involved, so the learning curve is steeper. It also means, however, that
you've got more possibilities, while in Audiomulch everything is more or
less predefined.
Why don't you just try them, they're free.
