the problem that I have encountered in playing with data-bending is
that often data are uncorrelated (that is compressed). In these cases
they form a sort of white noise and the results are very similar (you
hear white noise if you make a soundfile or you see white noise in an
image...). My suggestion is to use non-compressed files (I had
interesting results with .ps file and also .doc files are interesing).
Anyway, what methods do you use? I usually import raw data in a wave
editor (and I can see that the best results are if you consider the data
8 bit and mono)... however I find more interesting creating a map
between a visual information and an audio information (like the project
I've made for stasisfield.com)
