Re: [microsound] SHURE

In terms of applications , both SM57 and58, serve generally the same
purposes. As others dynamic, cardioid microphones they are generally used
for close miking , mid -heavy loud instruments or vocals. The difference
bertwee n the two is of sound coloring , meaning the different specs of
frequency response define a "caracter " for both of them.

I personelly prefer the 57, fundamentally because I leike it better the bass
boost on close miking of it. But it is purely a question of taste.

Hey guys just a quick question..

What is the difference in the sm 57 and sm 58 mics?
Sonic, clarity, voice and from the recording of instruments and sound
response?

They are only a few dollars different in price, but it seems that the 58
maybe more for vocals while as the 57 is for both vocals and the recording
of sound.

Please tell me which one you prefer and i will base my decision on your
opinions!'

thanks and cc me in on the reply emails.

peace

thanks
