the first vienna vegetable orchestra is on tour through
germany, netherlands, belgium and luxemburg
from 14.09.2002 to 29.09.2002:

20.9.02 bruxelles, belgium

29.9.02 heinerscheid, luxemburg

the first viennese vegetable orchestra consists exclusively of
vegetable-based instruments, although where necessary,
additional kitchen utensils such as knives or mixers are employed.
this creates an autonomous and totally novel type of sound
which cannot be achieved with conventional musical instruments.
marinated sound ideas and canned listening habits beg for expansion!
in the actual programme the orchestra is concentrating on electronic
music of different styles and are creating similar sound aesthetics by
using exclusively vegetable instruments.
this music is a playful departure from the conventional way of
looking at vegetables as mere means to still an appetite. the
instruments are subsequently made into a soup so that the
audience can then enjoy them a second time...

das instrumentarium des 1. wiener gemueseorchesters besteht
ausschliesslich aus gemuese, allenfalls werden zusaetzliche
(kuechen-) geraete wie messer oder mixer eingesetzt. dadurch
entsteht ein eigenstaendiger und voellig neuer klangstil, der mit
herkoemmlichen musikinstrumenten nicht zu erreichen ist. marinierte
klangvorstellungen und konservierte hoergewohnheiten wollen
eine erweiterung erfahren!
im aktuellen programm konzentriert sich das orchester auf elektronische
musik verschiedenster stile und erzeugt eine aehnliche
klangaestethik ausschliesslich mit gemuese.
anschließend wird das instrumentarium dann zu suppe verarbeitet
und  kann  so vom publikum ein zweites mal genossen werden.
