Beleive me..I'm for creating your own music, I dont use sample cds or other artist "track loops" (i.e.records or cd's) there's very little creativity in that. But If I cut a 16th note of a bass sound, change the octave, filter and generate a new sequence, I personally dont have a problem with it..but that's just me! Other artist do insist on creating all their own sounds which is great! I agree We defintely need to rethink the term " REMIX " I think sampling will always be a complex subject, and we haven't even touched the legal aspect.
