Thilges 3

Austrians Thilges3 consider their mission to be the introduction of socially
transformative audiovisual innovations into public places, museums, galleries,
theaters and clubs. Working exclusively with analog equipment and a
quadrophonic sound system in direct response to their environment, Thilges 3
will open the Impakt festival with a site-specific work created exclusively for
the Hamburgerstraat building.

weds 30 oct: Live Abstracts @ De Hoogt, 21:00
Martiens Go Home!
m//.
dk
mxHz

The frontiers of electronic music and visuals continue to move further away
from the concert hall and into spaces associated with other art forms, such as
painting, sculpture, theatre or film. In these other spaces, expectations
change and new ways of perceiving become possible. For the Live Abstracts
program, young media artists from the lowlands have been invited to present
their work in a cinema setting. From Holland, the work of m//. involves non-
cyclical abstract imagery, while that of dk reveils meticulously programmed
sound environments. And from Belgium, mxHz (or "machine centered humans")
research the relationship between technology and creativity, while Martiens Go
Home! rarely appear live, but rather perform every week for the radio. All of
these artists will perform short sets which synthesize engaging electronic
sounds with ground-breaking visual experiments.
