CALL FOR PROJECTS
Young experimental musicians are invited to submit concert event =
proposals for projects that they would like to present at Mixtophonics.=20

MIXTOPHONICS=20

 * is an ongoing series of live experimental music and sound art events =
presented by=20
    Vancouver New Music at the Havana Cafe on Commercial Drive.=20

 * includes acoustic chamber groups, free improv., live electronic =
music,=20
    sound poetry as well as video and multimedia projects incorporating=20
    experimental music.=20

 * an opportunity for young experimental musicians and sound innovators  =
to present their=20
    work to those with curious ears.=20

 * will present as many various genres as possible to testify to both =
the vivacity and the=20
    transcultural nature of musical expression among young Vancouver =
musicians.=20
 =20

SUBMISSION DETAILS=20

 Send recordings (CD's or cued audio cassettes), scores (copies only; no =
originals),=20
 or VHS Video, along with details of the proposal.=20

 Deadline for submission: December 9, 2002=20

Each submission should contain an Information Form. Include two copies =
of the form with your submission.=20

The form must include the following information:=20
  1. Name of the artist/group/ensemble=20
  2. Full contact information (phone, email, fax, mailing address, etc)=20
  3. Title of work/project=20
  4. Description of the project and program notes.=20
  5. Approximate duration of project=20
  6. Instrumentation (acoustic/electronics)=20
  7. Short biography=20

If you would like your materials to be returned, enclose a =
self-addressed stamped envelope. Submissions without SASE or postmarked =
after the deadline date will not be returned.=20

Vancouver New Music will offer to the selected musicians a local venue =
and the advertising support for the concert/event.  Musicians will be =
remunerated through ticket sales and will be responsible for any =
technical and instrumental requirements necessary to the presentation of =
their projects beyond what is available at the venue.=20
